    Hey Everyone! Once again I am here to help you to expand yourself! In this article I am gonna be share with you the most powerful techniques to overcome depression permanently. By applying these techniques you can definitely get rid of depression and live your life with whole and completeness.

Previously we have explored that the expectations are the root cause of all sufferings ( Depression?...Let's destroy it completely!). Take any negative state of the mind like depression, anxiety, stress ect. They are all arising as a consequence of the incomplete desires or expectations. Isn’t it? Incomplete desire or an expectation make you feel void or feeling something missing and incomplete in the life. Then…


Is it wrong to ‘Expect’ something?

Absolutely not! Without an expectations of the result, why we should work for an anything? If there is no any ‘reward’ to do something, then what can motivate us to do that? Suppose you need to study for the exams. Then which are the things that can motivate you to study hard? Absolutely either it is to improve grads or to get a rank! So without expecting outcome from a process, you can’t get triggered to do anything. Hence expecting is not bad, but to being attached to the outcome is may be trap for you. Your happiness is not dependent of anything, because you are happiness. Let’s understand with the same example. After the working hard for exams, if we don’t get expected results we get upset, nervous. this is because of attachment to the result that we expect.

 Here you need to know is ,why are you expecting a good results? The ultimate aim is to make yourself happy and to improve yourself. Isn’t it? If you want to imrove yourself ,then you can do it in anyway. you know well either you are imroving or not. If you know you are improving yourself then why to stuck in the tags of marks and grade? Then if your ultimate aim is to make yourself happy ,then why are you nervous at this moment. To become a happy somewhere in future ,why are you ruining your present moment? Be happy now, get up, and try hard  again to hit the goal!

Know  this  before  applying  the  techniques….

 Suppose, If monitor of your PC is not working and you trying to find a solution. Now, let say the monitor is not working because of the software problem, and you are still trying to solve the problem at hardware level. You are trying so hard to find a fault in the monitor hardware, but the problem is with the software! Is there any chances to get solution? 

In the same manner the cause of the depression is ‘Emotional unbalance’. The problem is at an emotional level. By applying a different therapies or taking a medical treatment you can definitely reduce the depression temporary but you can’t cure it permanently. To cure this problem permanently, we have to solve it at a same place from where it has arise. That is, at an emotional level! It doesn’t matter how efforts you going to put to solve a particular problem. We should always check either efforts are in the right direction or not.

#1 . Shift  your  focus


Your focus is an important factor that does decide quality of your life.

 It’s time for one short story. There was a two boys. One was middleclass, living with his family in small home. Another boy was a son of a rich businessmen, living in big bungalow with all luxuries . They two are good friends. A first boy who was from a middleclass family always used to think that ‘what a happy life his rich friend was living? A big bungalow, luxuries car and lots of money to buy whatever he want.’ But another boy is used to think that ‘ what a life his friend has. He has a every freedom to do anything, he can go outside and play with friends , play in dust, can do whatever he want.’ Because rich boy has a too many restrictions. So both can be happy with their own current stage. 

 what they were doing is to focus on the things that they don’t have. We always made a expectations and perceptions by seeing at the other’s life. We make that thing as a center of our life that we doesn’t have. And always be in the suffering  state. We always forget to have a fun with the things that we already have.

Practice the following steps.
  •    Be happy with what you have already in your life.
  •    Keep remembering yourself a good and positive things about your life.
  •             Count your blessings every day. 
  •   Express your gratitude to god for this amazing and wonderful life.
. I am not telling to be satisfied with your current stage. Life is a about  progress . you also have a right to be rich , to get anything that you want. But first be happy with what you have. If you can’t be happy with what you have right now , then how we can say that you will be happy by getting what you want? May be at that time you want something else. Think about it.


# 2.  Practice optimism



Optimism is not a thing to do, it’s an attitude that reflects your upcoming future.

That was a time of a war. Everywhere you could see was only death, nothing else. A soldier in the middle of a battlefield. Lost his right arm in a bomb attack. One soldier from his battalion  came and trying to convince him, ‘ You should  return to camp as you lost your one arm’ and he replied

               “ There may be thousands of reasons to set back, but the one reason is enough to stay in the war that my one arm is still Left.”

May be you have hundreds of a reason to give up upon your dreams ,your passion but still you  can see the one strong reason to stick to it ,then surely you will be succeed. To see an opportunity in difficulty and to find simplicity in every complexity is an optimism. optimism gives you the reason to stay hopeful and confident in every situation.

Any situation isn’t going to decide your happiness ,what you think about that situation does matter. Are you going to see a negative side of any incident or you try to find something positive out of it? Things are neutral ,they neither positive nor negative. But, what emotions have you linked to that things make it positive or negative. It is a choice. You can choose to see negative side of anything and keep blaming your life, or also you can choose to see a positive side of anything and be a happy. Whatever you choose, choose wisely. You can simply avoid stress and depression by choosing a right mental attitude. Everything is happen for a good.

Again , to see positive in any situation doesn’t mean you have to accept it as an end point. You should convert it into opportunity and keep going ahead

What to do?
  •   Develop and practice a mental attitude to see positive side of anything that will happen to your life. 
  •  Develop your self image such that ‘you love challenges’, take every difficult situation as a challenge, be bold and face it.
  •  Keep affirming to yourself that ‘ Everything, that is happening in my life and will  happen is all for a good.’ Keep faith on Divine. 
  •  And most important choose wisely and consciously how are you going to respond any  situation.                                                                                                                                     


#3. Breathing & Meditation



Have you observed that, whenever you are tense or in the fear ,your breath become shallow and fast?. Also your heart is on race. But whenever you are calm ,happy and free of any worries then your breath is deep and slow. Also your heartbeat is at normal condition. So is there any relation between your state of mind and your breath? Yes , there is. So can we reverse this process? Yes ,we can. Speed or nature of our breath is going to change with our mental state. If we are in the tension our breath become shallow and fast and if we are relax then our breath is become deep and slow. Our mental state effect on our breathing , in the same way we can control our mental to a some extent by controlling nature of our breath.

What to do?

  • ·     Whenever you feel tensed , take a deep and slow breath . concentrate on your breath  at  nose. Repeat it few times. 
  •         In the early mornings you can do deep breathing exercise. 
  • ·   Also you can perform a various pranayamas like kapalbhati or Anulom vilom. It is  very effective to develop positive and refreshing mental state as well as gives a  numerous health benefits.  

Meditation is another most powerful technique that we can use to permanently overcome depression. Usually if you meditate regularly it will help you to sort out almost every problem in your life. How meditation can help you?
  •   By regularly practicing meditation you can get clear and sharp mind, that will help you  to focus better.
  •  Meditation can help you to reach a calm state of mind, reduce excessive thoughts in mind so that quality of our thinking is going to increase. calm mind always able to make better choices and decisions. ·        
  • Depression and stress are usually emotional problems. By regularly practicing meditation we can see and analyze our emotions at a deeper level and can give them a constructive direction. ·         
  • We are also become able to control our emotions more wisely and effectively.·         
  • There are different methods of meditations (will discuss in upcoming posts) and guided meditations available in market .you can choose any one of them and practice.
